Please be advised that the following rules and regulations are the official guidelines for the game jam in which you are participating. Introduction

This rules and regulations Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal document that outlines and explains your rights and obligations as a participant in the jam. In this document, "you", "your" refers to the participants of the jam, while "I", "we", "staff", "host", "us", "our" refers to the organizing committee of the jam.

NSFW

This game jam strictly prohibits the inclusion of NSFW content in any submission. NSFW content includes, but is not limited to, pornographic material, racism, sexism, classism, violence, and political content. If you are unsure whether your submission is NSFW, we encourage you to seek clarification by contacting us through our Discord server before submitting your game. Any submissions found to contain NSFW content will be removed and the creator may be reported to itch.io.

Horror Games

Horror games are permitted in the jam, provided that they do not breach the NSFW rules section. If you have created a horror game, you must include a clear horror warning before the game begins.

Premades

The jam permits the use of premade assets such as scripts, soundtracks, sound effects, and animations. However, participants are prohibited from excessively utilizing them to the point of creating a completely premade game or a combination of premade games. Any submission that violates this rule will be disqualified from the jam. Additionally, all assets used in the game must be properly credited on the description of the submission page. If the assets employed are not your original creations, you must obtain legal permission to use them. (how to determine if you have permission to use something from the web.)

Teams

You can join the jam either as an individual or as a team of any size. However, please be mindful that the bigger the team, the harder it is to manage. You are also only allowed to join one team.

If you are joining as a team, kindly note that only one team representative is required to submit the game, while crediting all team members as contributors in the submission page. To maintain fairness, contributors cannot rate other submissions directly on itch.io.

Ratings

Participants are encouraged to rate other submissions after the jam, although it is not mandatory. It is important to rate other submissions honestly and fairly. Do not rate everything with a 1-star as it will not increase your chances of winning.

Submissions

You are limited to submit only one game. If you submit more than one game, you will be disqualified from the jam.

Changing your submission

You may modify your submission during the jam period but you cannot do so after it ends. Changing your submission after the deadline will result in its removal from the results. This action will not be done by us but by itch.io's algorithm.

Late submissions

If you encounter technical difficulties and are unable to submit your game within the designated period, you may contact us through Discord to request a "late submission exception." We will evaluate the reason you provide, and if it is deemed acceptable, we may grant you permission to submit your game. Please note that this exception will only be available for one day after the jam ends, unless otherwise stated by us.

Game Engine and Format

You are allowed to submit your games in any format, including but not limited to Windows, Linux, Mac, VR, console, and mobile. However, it is recommended to submit the game in a web format as it can be played by everyone. Please keep in mind that not everyone may have the necessary tools to play your game in a specific format. For instance, individuals without a VR headset will be unable to play your VR submission. Therefore, please choose the game format carefully.

You may use any game engine of your choice for the development of your game. The subsequent list presents a few examples of the game engines that are deemed acceptable

Discord

We provide an official discord server for the participants to communicate and discuss the event. The link to the discord server will be available on the main jam page. While you are in discord, you must follow the discord rules and regulations. Failure to comply with the discord rules may result in consequences, including the possibility of being banned from the discord server. However, violating the discord rules will not lead to disqualification from the jam, provided that all other jam rules are being followed.

Theme

The jam will feature a theme which will be announced at the start of the jam. You are encouraged to incorporate the theme into your submission.

Other Matters

During the jam, any issues and/or unforeseen events not covered in this document shall be referred to us for final decision.
